Introduction
Department of Agadatantra Vyavahar Ayurveda from Government Ayurveda college, Jalgaon deals with the teaching of Ayurvedic as well as modern clinical and forensic Toxicology, Forensic medicine and Medical Jurisprudence to the third year BAMS students. It comprehends and disseminates the knowledge of animate and inanimate poisons, its sources, types, signs and symptoms, fatal dose and integrated management including the post mortem findings.
Vision:
- To create conversant and proficient Ayurveda visha vaidyas.
- To rouse good Forensic science & Medical Jurisprudence experts in the field of Ayurveda to regulate and handle legal issues and medical laws.
- To conduct seminars, discussions and CMEs for the developments of science to enhance the efficiency of the teachers and UG students.
- To motivate and conduct Comprehensive research on Visha dravyas, Antidotes, Treatment modalities based on the concepts of Agadatantra.
- To provide contributions in toxicology to Ayurvedic field by management of bite cases, Allergy, and Dermatology.
Mission:
- To provide theoretical, practical and clinical knowledge of Agadatantra for BAMS students.
- To manage dermatological and bite cases in the outpatient and inpatient departments.
- To conduct seminars, discussions and CMEs for the developments of science to enhance the efficiency of the teachers and UG students.
- To conduct unit tests and model examinations for evaluating students and make them competent.
- The Agadatantra department seeks to generate efficient teachers, physicians and researchers in the field of Agadatantra, who are intellectual, moral and socially sensitive.
Facilities Available:
- Department holds 2 higher and 1 lower teaching staff as per MSR of UG staffing pattern.
- Department possess the well-developed museum with the essential models, specimens, weapons and charts required as per the MSR for the teaching purpose to the students of third BAMS.
- Departmental library consisting of all required Ayurveda and modern books.
